Same customer on instagram and whatsapp

Hey, is there a way to link an Instagram conversation with a WhatsApp one when its the same customer? Would help to see what we already discussed without searching both chats. Can we do that manually?

Hi Emma,

Not as one merged thread, no. Each channel keeps its own conversation, so the Instagram chat and the WhatsApp chat stay seperate even when it's the same person.

What works today, by hand:

Give both the same name. Open the conversation, and in the details panel on the right press Edit name. Do it in both chats. Then search that name in the Inbox and you get the two chats together.
Leave a note in each one, for example «also on WhatsApp, +44…», so whoever opens either chat knows the other one exists.
Same tag on both, if you use tags, so they show up in the same filter.

Linking the two into one customer is a fair request, I've passed it to the team.
