FAQ
MirageCHAT questions, answered clearly
Clear answers about MirageCHAT channels, AI, social publishing, mobile apps, security, billing, integrations and account-specific availability.
What a workspace can use follows its plan. The status shown inside that workspace is authoritative.
Do I need to build anything with Meta myself?
No. MirageCHAT provides guided connection flows: you sign in with the platform, pick your accounts and they are connected — no Meta app of your own and no developer setup.
How long does it take to go live?
Minutes. Create the workspace, connect a channel with the guided flow, and messages start arriving — no server setup and no customer-owned Meta app.
What kinds of businesses is MirageCHAT for?
Any business that talks to its clients online: restaurants, beauty salons, gyms, shops, clinics, car rental, hotels, real-estate and travel agencies — and more. If your clients write to you on WhatsApp or Instagram, or you post on social media, MirageCHAT does the heavy lifting for you. There are pages with the details per trade: restaurants, clinics, car rental, salons, gyms and shops.
Can I use my existing WhatsApp number?
Eligibility depends on the number and Meta setup. MirageCHAT guides the connection without asking the customer to build a separate Meta app.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 14 days of Pro, free, with no credit card. When it ends you keep the Free package: 2 connected accounts, the inbox and Instant Post, for as long as you like.
Which channels can I connect?
WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Telegram and website chat are available now. TikTok publishing is live with Instant Post — public videos, or photos made into one video — and TikTok messages are coming soon. Connect a YouTube channel for videos and Shorts from Instant Post, with the visibility you choose, its comments in Comments and YouTube Analytics. Connect a Google Business Profile to answer your Google reviews — the reply is posted on Google under the review — publish updates, events and offers from Instant Post, and see the views, calls and directions your listing gets in Analytics. SMS works from your own number: connect a MirageTEL number, or your own Twilio account, for two-way text messages in the inbox, billed by MirageTEL or Twilio, not by MirageCHAT. The Channels screen shows the exact abilities active for each connected account.
Can I send photos, buttons and interactive messages?
MirageCHAT supports media, location, contact cards and interactive formats where the connected WhatsApp or Instagram account and platform permissions allow them. The channel card shows the abilities available to that account.
Can customers call us on WhatsApp?
Yes, on Growth and Pro. A customer’s WhatsApp call rings in MirageCHAT — on every page in the browser, and in the phone app, on the lock screen too — and the first person to answer takes it. You can also call a customer who agreed to be called. Every call is kept in the conversation.
How do WhatsApp message templates work?
To start a conversation, or to message someone more than 24 hours after their last reply, WhatsApp requires an approved template. You create templates in MirageCHAT, we submit them to Meta, and you are notified automatically when each is approved or rejected. Templates with a media header (for example a photo) are supported.
Can I manage Instagram comments from MirageCHAT?
Yes. Reply, hide, delete, like and reply privately to comments on your Instagram posts, from the same place as your messages, and delete your own posts, stories and reels from Comments. MirageCHAT checks each account's abilities before offering an action.
Can I reply to Google reviews from MirageCHAT?
Yes. Connect your Google Business Profile in Channels › Google: reviews arrive in Comments › Reviews, and your reply is posted on Google under the review — written by you, or an AI draft you approve. Instant Post publishes updates and events to your profile (offers too, except for hotels and other lodging), and Analytics › Google shows views, calls and direction requests.
What are scan-to-chat QR codes?
A QR code that opens a WhatsApp chat with your number and a message already typed in — perfect for flyers, table tents, receipts, packaging and door signs. Create and manage them in Settings or via the API.
Do you keep a profile of each customer?
Yes. Every person who writes to you gets a contact record — which channel they came from, when they first wrote, every conversation since, and any notes your team adds. Open it from the top of any chat. Nothing is imported from anywhere else; it builds itself from the messages you already receive.
Can I send broadcasts and campaigns?
Yes — segment your customers by channel, tag or location, schedule a send, and track delivery. Opt-outs are always respected.
Is there a mobile app for my team?
Yes. MirageCHAT is available on Google Play and the App Store. The mobile apps use the same workspace, connected accounts and permissions as the web app.
Does the app cost more per agent?
No. It is the same agent account. If someone can use the inbox on the web, they can use it on their phone — and you can turn mobile access off for any individual agent under Settings → Agents.
Can agents reply without opening the app?
Yes. A reply typed straight into the notification is sent immediately, whether the app is open, in the background or fully closed. The notification turns into a tick once the reply is on its way.
What happens when the phone has no internet?
Nothing is lost. The reply is kept on the phone and sends itself the moment the connection returns — even if the app has been closed in the meantime.
How does the app update itself?
Most updates arrive on their own and install at a safe moment — never while somebody is typing. Now and then a release changes the app more deeply and a fresh download is needed; the app says so when that happens.
Where can I download the mobile apps?
MirageCHAT is available on Google Play and the App Store. An Android download may also be provided from our site for supported installation scenarios.
Can I lock the app on an agent's phone?
The app has its own lock — fingerprint, face or a four-digit PIN — separate from the phone's own lock, so an unlocked phone left on a desk still does not open your inbox. You can also switch off mobile access for any individual agent, and their sessions stop working.
Which version of the Android app will I get?
Google Play and the App Store list the current MirageCHAT build. The apps can also receive compatible in-app updates; a new store build is required when native phone capabilities change.
Does the AI reply on its own?
Claude drafts replies in the customer's own language for availability, pricing and FAQs. You choose, per channel, whether the AI sends automatically or just suggests a draft for your team to approve.
Where does the AI get its answers about my business?
From a knowledge base you write — prices, policies, opening hours, anything you would otherwise repeat fifty times a week. You can paste text or point it at a page on your website. The AI answers from that, and when the answer is not there it says so instead of inventing one.
Which languages does the AI support?
The AI replies in the customer's own language — English, Italian, German, Spanish, French and more. It detects the language of the incoming message and answers in it, so your team writes once and every customer reads it in their own.
Does the AI answer every message separately?
No. When a customer sends several messages in a row, the AI waits a few seconds until they finish, then answers once for all of them.
Can I set up automatic replies?
Yes. With Auto-Replies you can greet every new chat or send an away message outside business hours — automatically. You choose the channel and the exact accounts it applies to, and newly-connected channels appear on their own.
What is the difference between auto-replies and workflows?
An auto-reply is one fixed message on one trigger — a first message, or a message outside business hours. A workflow is a sequence: ask the AI to answer, wait ten minutes, and if the customer is still unanswered, hand it to a person. Auto-replies are set up in a minute; workflows are built on a canvas when one step is not enough.
Can I review AI replies before they are sent?
Yes. Turn on suggestion mode and the AI drafts a reply for your agent to review and send with one click, instead of answering on its own.
Can MirageCHAT post to my social media automatically?
Yes, at the time you choose. In Social Studio, Instant Post publishes one post to Instagram, Facebook Pages, TikTok, YouTube (videos) and your Google Business Profile now, or schedules it for a date and time up to a year ahead, and it goes out on its own at that time. Your posts shows what was published, what is scheduled and what failed.
Which platforms does Social Studio post to?
Instagram (posts, carousels, stories and reels), Facebook Pages, TikTok (videos, and photos made into one video), YouTube (videos and Shorts, with the visibility you choose) and Google Business Profile (updates and events; offers too, except for hotels and other lodging). Every post goes out with Instant Post, now or scheduled up to a year ahead.
Where does the music for reels and videos come from?
Instant Post can put music on a reel: a track from Instagram’s own music catalogue for business accounts (on Instagram), or your own audio, mixed into the reel so it goes to every channel. On TikTok, choose a sound from TikTok’s Commercial Music Library: press it to see the videos trending with it, then «Use this sound» puts it on your post. Use only audio you have the right to use; each platform’s music library follows that platform’s rules.
Can I see how fast my team replies?
Yes. Response time is measured from the customer's last message to your reply — the wait they actually experienced, not when someone opened the chat. You get it per agent, per channel and per day, with the AI listed alongside your team so you can see how much it handled on its own.
Can I see which agent replied to a customer?
Yes — every reply carries the person who sent it and the device they used, phone or browser. Team Activity shows the whole team, including anyone who replied to nothing that week, which is usually the number a manager is looking for.
Is there a record I can trust if something goes wrong?
The audit log records sign-ins, permission changes, connected channels, AI prompt edits and every data export, each with the person, the device and the time. Entries are sealed with a fingerprint of the one before them, so altering or deleting one breaks the chain and a single button shows you exactly which entry it was. It cannot make tampering impossible — nothing stored in the same database can — but it makes tampering impossible to do quietly, which is what makes a log worth having.
Can I send a message to my own staff's phones?
Yes — Team Announcements is in every paid package. Shift notes, urgent updates or team news arrive as a push notification on your agents' phones. It reaches your own team only — never customers, never another business — and every announcement is recorded in the audit log with who sent it.
Can a saved reply include a photo?
Yes. An admin attaches a photo to any quick reply in Settings — directions to your door, the menu, a photo of the thing everyone asks about. When an agent picks that reply in a conversation, the photo and the text are sent together in one tap, from the web inbox or the mobile app. Saved replies are managed by admins, so the whole team sends the same approved answer.
Can my team reply in the customer's language?
Incoming messages can be translated on demand. The AI can draft a reply in the client's language from the conversation and your knowledge base; in suggestion mode an agent reviews and sends it.
Can I be told if an agent sends customers somewhere else?
Yes — that is what Alert Audit does. You add the words that matter to you (a competitor, for example) or switch on patterns like a phone number or a link to another site, and you are told when an agent reply contains one. If you do not know what to watch for, AI can read your own conversations once and suggest names it found — you decide which to keep. Alerts arrive as a single digest each morning and open the conversation for you to read. Nothing is ever closed, blocked or auto-corrected, and agents never see the list.
What are quick replies, and what can they hold?
They are the answers your team sends every day, written once by an admin and inserted in one click. A quick reply can carry a photo — the map to your door, the menu, the one everyone asks about — which sends immediately with the text as its caption. It can carry links that land as their own tidy lines, and fields like the customer's name, which fills itself from the conversation, or the time and price, which stay as blanks the agent fills before sending. Replies are grouped into categories and searchable, so the right one is found in seconds even when there are dozens. You can also tie a reply to a single channel, so an Instagram link never shows up in a WhatsApp chat.
Can I manage multiple locations?
Yes. A workspace can hold every location you run, and every paid package has unlimited team members and every feature except WhatsApp calls, which are in Growth and Pro, and the Publishing API, which is in Pro. The package decides how many accounts you connect, in any mix of channels: 2 on Free, 5 on Starter, 12 on Growth, and 25 on Pro, then $1.75 a month for each account more.
Can several team members share one inbox?
Yes. Your whole team works from one shared inbox — assign conversations, snooze, tag and add private notes, and see who is replying in real time.
How does pricing work, and can I cancel anytime?
Four packages in US dollars. Free costs nothing: 2 connected accounts, the inbox and Instant Post with 30 posts a month, for 1 team member and without AI. The paid packages have unlimited team members and every feature except WhatsApp calls, which are in Growth and Pro, and the Publishing API, which is in Pro: Starter is $19.99 a month with 5 connected accounts and 100 AI replies a month, Growth $39.99 with 12 and 500, and Pro $59.99 with 25 and 1,000, then $1.75 a month for each account more. Paid by the year, a package costs ten months: $199.90, $399.90 or $599.90. Every workspace starts with a 14-day free trial of Pro with 5 connected accounts, 100 AI replies and no credit card, and then stays on Free unless you choose a package. Change or cancel at any time from Billing: a bigger package starts at once and you pay only the difference for the days that are left; a smaller one, or Free, starts on your next renewal date, and there is no refund for a period already started. WhatsApp message charges are billed by Meta to your own WhatsApp account.
Do you add a fee on top of WhatsApp messages?
No. Meta bills WhatsApp per message, at its own published rates, to your own WhatsApp Business account — it does not pass through us, so there is nothing for us to mark up. Templates are charged; replies inside the 24-hour window are free for the first 1,000 a month on each number, then Meta charges them. What you pay MirageCHAT is your package and the AI replies beyond what it includes. That is all.
Can I pay only for the channels I actually use?
You pay for how many accounts you connect, not for which channels. Every package has every channel — WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, website chat, SMS, YouTube and Google Business Profile, plus TikTok for publishing, comments and Insights — in any mix: 2 accounts on Free, 5 on Starter, 12 on Growth, and 25 on Pro, then $1.75 a month for each account more. WhatsApp message charges stay on your own WhatsApp account.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is isolated per workspace and hosted in the EU. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Do you handle STOP and opt-outs automatically?
Yes. When a customer replies STOP they are opted out automatically (START opts them back in), and opted-out contacts are never sent templates or campaigns. It is GDPR-friendly by default, and you can manage the list via the API.
Is there an API — and can I resell MirageCHAT to my own clients?
Yes. The API is in every paid package and its reference is public at miragechat.io/developers/: scoped keys, conversations and messages, customers, webhooks, team, automations, WhatsApp forms, calls and analytics — and publishing, which is in Pro. To resell MirageCHAT under your own name, White Label gives each client its own workspace and your name and logo on the connect link, for $75 a month + $1.25 per connected channel: miragechat.io/white-label/.
Can my agents use the system we already have, without leaving the chat?
Yes — that is what Integrations are for. If you have an API, connect it and map your own field names onto ours; the answer appears as a panel inside the conversation. If you already have a working screen — a planner, a booking page, a dashboard — you do not need an API at all: give us its address and it opens in a tab with the customer's details already filled in. You choose which accounts and which agents can see it.
Can I see the exact time someone last wrote?
Yes. Every conversation in the list shows the date and time of its last message - Today 14:32, Yest. 12:05, or 12 Aug 18:22 for anything older - rather than a rough 3h, so you can tell 14:32 from 14:59 when you are deciding what to answer first. Conversations still waiting for a reply keep their waiting badge in that corner instead. The clock follows your own device, and the browser and the mobile app read the same.
