Website chat puts a chat button on your site, and every conversation lands in the same Inbox as your other channels. You publish it in MirageCHAT and paste one line of code into your site — once.
- Open Channels › Website Chat. Opening it creates your website chat channel, which counts as one connected account in your package.
- Design it now (see «Design your website chat»), or keep the defaults for the moment.
- Go to step 8, Install & publish. Under Websites allowed to use this key, press + add and enter your site. yourshop.com and *.yourshop.com together cover the address and every subdomain.
- Under Check my site, press Check. MirageCHAT opens your homepage and tells you what would stop the chat.
- Press Publish & get the code. Your widget is live — here is the code shows one line; press Copy.
- Paste it just before the closing body tag on every page — in WordPress, the theme’s footer or a “custom code” field; in React or Next.js, the root layout. Keep defer. Or press Email these instructions to my developer.
- Open your site, open the chat and send a test message. It arrives in the Inbox under the channel’s name.
Good to know
- The line never changes. Later edits reach your site only after you press Publish & get the code again; until then the top of the page reads Draft · N changes not published.
- Version history at the top rolls back to an earlier version.
- With no allowed websites, any site may use your key. Once you list yours, other sites are refused.
- The AI can answer website chat: switch on AI answers in Channel & hours, or set the channel in AI › Channels.
