WhatsApp connects in Meta’s own window. First, MirageCHAT asks one question: where does this number live today?
- Open Channels › Connected and press WhatsApp. The Connect WhatsApp window asks Where does this number live today?
- Pick one:
- Stays on the phone — the number is already in the WhatsApp Business app. Press Connect the number on my phone, read Keep your phone. Add your team., then press Continue with Meta. You need WhatsApp Business 2.24.17 or newer, with your phone open while chats copy.
- Moves to MirageCHAT — a dedicated number nobody uses on a handset. Press Connect a dedicated number, tick I understand this number will no longer work in the WhatsApp app, then Continue with Meta.
- In Meta’s window, sign in with the Facebook profile that manages your business, choose your business portfolio, and follow the steps. Screen-by-screen walkthrough: miragechat.io/help/connect-whatsapp/
- Back in MirageCHAT you’ll see WhatsApp connected: +…, and the number appears as a card under Channels.
Good to know
- On the phone: up to 6 months of chats can be copied if you allow it. Replies typed on the phone show Sent from phone. Groups, calls, status and broadcast lists stay on the phone.
- Dedicated number: a number already on WhatsApp must be deleted from the app first. Meta sends a code by text message or phone call.
- Open WhatsApp Business at least every two weeks — Meta unlinks phones that stay offline for about 14 days.
- MirageCHAT never sees your Facebook password. Only owners and admins can open Channels.
