In short
YouTube connects on Google’s own screen: you pick the channel and allow MirageCHAT. Then Instant Post posts Shorts and videos to it, its comments arrive in Comments, and its numbers are in Analytics.
Before you start
- A YouTube channel, and the Google sign-in that manages it. A Google account without a channel is refused: “This Google account has no YouTube channel yet. Create one on YouTube, then connect it.”
- Room in your package: a YouTube channel is one connected account — your package.
Steps
Open Channels and press YouTube
In MirageCHAT, go to
Channelsand press YouTube. Google’s screen opens.Pick the channel and allow everything
Sign in, pick the YouTube channel and leave every permission ticked: YouTube needs them all to post, answer comments and show analytics. Several channels? Connect one, then press YouTube again for the next.
Check the card
Back in MirageCHAT: “YouTube is connected (…). Videos go out from Instant Post; comments arrive in Comments.” The channel is a card under
Channels.
What you can do
- Post with
Social Studio › Instant Post: vertical and up to 3 minutes goes up as a Short, longer or wide as a video. Each has a Title, Who can see it — Public, Unlisted or Private — and Made for kids?; More YouTube options holds Notify subscribers, the AI-content line and the playlists it goes into, up to 10 — Instant Post. A batch posts to YouTube too — plan a batch. - Change what went out in
Social Studio › Your posts: on a video MirageCHAT uploaded, Edit on YouTube changes the title, the description and who can see it, Thumbnail takes a JPG or PNG up to 10 MB, and Delete from YouTube removes it. - Answer comments in
Comments: reply in public, or Hold for review and Publish again. YouTube has no private replies and doesn’t let apps like comments — answer comments. - Answer comments automatically once the channel’s owner allows it: in
Automation, Allow automations › I allow it on this channel — at most 20 automated actions a day on each channel — how. - Follow your numbers in
Analytics, on YouTube: views, watch time, subscribers, average view duration, likes and comments, Shorts and videos, where views came from, countries and top videos. YouTube’s numbers arrive 2–3 days late. - Choose who posts: a YouTube channel is a posting account in each agent’s Posting accounts — agent permissions.
Good to know
- Comments are read every 10 minutes — every 2 minutes on a channel with an automation that may answer them — because YouTube doesn’t send them by itself.
- One channel, one workspace. A channel connected in another MirageCHAT workspace is refused: “This YouTube channel is connected to another MirageCHAT workspace. Disconnect it there first.”
- Connecting it again, when its card asks: pick the same channel on Google’s screen — another one is refused, with both names.
- Disconnect is in the card’s ⋯ menu: MirageCHAT withdraws its access at Google and deletes the stored YouTube tokens. Videos already on YouTube stay there, and you can connect it again.
- On your phone,
Menu › Channelsopens Google’s screen on the web, signed in. Posting, comments and the numbers work in the app too. - The API gives nothing of YouTube: YouTube’s rules for apps don’t allow its data through another app’s API.
If something looks wrong
“YouTube needs every permission on Google’s screen …”
A permission was unticked. Press YouTube again and leave them all ticked.
“YouTube was not connected — Google’s window was closed or access was not allowed.”
Press YouTube again and finish Google’s screen.
I don’t see the YouTube button.
Connecting a channel is for owners, admins and managers. Ask one of them, or sign in with that access.
A scheduled video is not on YouTube yet.
Nothing goes to YouTube before the time you chose. At that time MirageCHAT uploads it, with who can see it as you chose.
